Descrierea evenimentului:
“Dr. Tarasenko-Struc is a clinical ethics fellow at the Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical College. After a year as a graduate fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, he obtained a PhD in philosophy from Harvard University and has spent most of his postdoctoral career teaching courses in moral, social, and political philosophy.
Dr. Tarasenko-Struc’s research concerns the moral and psychological profile of dehumanization: acts, attitudes, and social practices that deny the humanity of their victims. He is particularly interested in how to understand the potentially dehumanizing aspects of some medical practice, which reparative responses are called for when standards of care are grossly violated, and what might facilitate the humanization of the patient in clinical settings. His work includes essays on social invisibility, racial alienation, bipolar obligation, objectification, animalization, and love.”
