Project type: Virtual mobility Grant
Action number: CA21137
Working Plan:
The working plan consists of the following main tasks:
- A comprehensive scientific review of the relevant literature, which will be focused on the cultural, religious, racial/ethnic aspects regarding dementia care, with an emphasis on the Roma population for the latter. We will also discuss with physicians and other healthcare personnel involved in dementia care to properly identify additional issues. We will separate the investigators in three main teams (each consisting of at least one senior researcher and a young investigator), one focusing on the cultural aspects, one on religious issues, and one on racial/ethnic aspects. Each team will make an interim report, which will be then submitted to the other participants.
- The development of an internal, online system for discussions, in which the participants will exchange ideas and scientific materials, based on Microsoft Teams. In this online system the interim reports developed in the first task will be critically analysed by the other team members.
- The development of a website for the project, which will disseminate the main results toward the general public. During the project, we will also create various promotional materials that will be added to the website, but also promoted on social media.
- Personal mentoring sessions with young investigators, to develop capacity building, through the development of methodological and communicational skills. They will be offline for investigators located in the same region, and online (using Microsoft Teams) for investigators located in different regions.
- The initiation of a scientific paper, which will be main-authored by one of the young investigators, with the most potential, as assessed by the senior investigators, based on the reports developed in the previous tasks. We will try to publish the paper on an open-access journal, but keeping in mind the timeframe of the project, it is likely to be published after the end of the project. Additionally, based on the same report, young investigators will develop conference papers, which will be presented in conferences with a focus on ethical issues.
The most important results of the project will be presented in a webinar (using Microsoft Teams), in which each young investigator will present hers/his main research focus, and senior investigators will coordinate discussions. To this webinar we will invite relevant stakeholders and other participants from the EDEM-network. Following the webinar, a report will be drawn, summarizing the main findings/ideas. The webinar will be promoted to healthcare professionals, who will further disseminate the results of the study and apply them in clinical practice
